Frequently Asked Questions for ROADMAP Attendees
-
When does the event start and end?Event check-in will begin at 8 a.m. on December 3, 2024, at the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center (1300 Pennsylvania Ave., Washington, DC). The closing plenary session will end by 3 p.m. on December 4.
-
When will we receive a detailed agenda?NSF and EDA are currently finalizing speakers, moderators, and session topics that will provide the most value to the ecosystem partners, policymakers, industry leaders, and philanthropic and academic stakeholders attending the summit. We will announce a more detailed agenda and slate of speakers by early November.
-
Who will be attending ROADMAP?We expect up to 600 attendees, with over half of those attendees being assembled from awardees of federal place-based innovation programs. In addition to regional innovation ecosystem leaders, NSF and EDA are inviting a highly curated range of leading thinkers, current and former elected officials, industry leaders, and journalists to share their perspectives about the landscape for U.S. competitiveness, emerging technology opportunities and challenges, and an emerging consensus on our national industrial strategy. We are also inviting a select group of national philanthropy, private capital, and defense procurement stakeholders who have an interest in supporting regional ecosystems’ work in the future.
-
I am a leader of a federally funded place-based innovation ecosystem. Which representatives from my ecosystem should attend the event? It is ultimately up to your discretion to determine who from your ecosystem should attend the ROADMAP Summit. Generally, ecosystem leaders should consider sending individual(s) who can clearly and confidently speak to industry leaders, policymakers, and media about the broader vision for their ecosystem and the specific translational technology and research emerging from their teams. Representatives should also be well-prepared to demonstrate the unique competitive advantage their regional ecosystem has in their technology sector, to ensure productive conversations with technology buyers and investors.
-
How do I get additional invitations for my organization? The ROADMAP Summit is an invitation-only event, with a limited amount of space to accommodate the event’s diverse audience of emerging place-based innovation ecosystem leaders, industry and thought leaders, current and former elected officials, and journalists. With that in mind, we are generally not able to increase the number of invitations already allotted to each attending ecosystem or stakeholder. If you have a critical need to add invitees from your organization beyond your allotment, please send a special request to invitations@roadmapsummit.com, and we will put them on a waitlist according to final registration numbers.
